To help our community secure extra support for their collaborative projects and ideas, we want to share a list of exciting Spring 2024 funding opportunities.

EPSRC Prosperity Partnerships: Round Six
📅 Deadline: 21 May 2024
🔍 Scope: Prosperity Partnerships projects must be business led, co-created and co-delivered by business and academic partners, and address research areas based on EPSRC’s strategic delivery plan
👥 Applicant: Academic and Business organisations
💰 Funding: Route One- up to £10 million is available for projects (they expect to fund 12 to 15 awards). Route Two- up to £30 million is available for projects (they expect to fund 15 to 20 awards).
The Leverhulme Trust Grant
📅 Deadline: 21 March 2024
🔍 Scope: For researchers based at universities, institutions of higher education or registered charities with university-equivalent research capacity, to undertake an innovative and original research project
👥 Applicant: Eligible applicants will already be employed by the eligible institution or be an academic who has maintained close links with that institution following retirement.
💰 Funding: The maximum grant value is £500,000
Wellcome Early-Career Awards
📅 Deadline: 21 May 2024
🔍 Scope: Your research can be in any discipline – including science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), experimental medicine, humanities and social science, clinical/allied health sciences, and public health – as long as it has the potential to improve human life, health and wellbeing, and aligns with their funding remit.
👥 Applicant: Early-career researchers
💰 Funding: Your salary and up to £400,000 for research expenses
ODA Challenge-Oriented Research Grants 2024
📅 Deadline: 10 April 2024
🔍 Scope: Develop and/or deepen international research collaborations on internationally focused ODA-eligible research projects on specific global challenges
👥 Applicant: The British Academy is inviting proposals on specific global challenges from researchers based in the UK, Brazil, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Malaysia, Philippines, South Africa, Turkey, Thailand, Vietnam and/or Least Developed Countries.
💰 Funding: Awards of 18 months in duration and up to £200,000 (full economic cost) are available
UKRI Future Leaders Fellowships: Round 9
📅 Deadline: 18 June 2024
🔍 Scope: Aims to develop, retain, attract and sustain research and innovation talent in the UK
👥 Applicant: This scheme supports early career researchers and innovators with significant potential to become leaders in their field
💰 Funding: This scheme has funded fellowships from £300,000 to over £2 million, and there is no preference for lower or higher cost proposals
AHRC Responsive Mode: Catalyst Award: Round Three
📅 Deadline: 30 April 2024
🔍 Scope: You must want to unlock your potential and build leadership skills through the delivery of ambitious or complex projects. Practice-based and practice-led research is supported by this scheme.
👥 Applicant: Researchers without prior experience of leading a significant research project to accelerate their trajectory as independent researchers
💰 Funding: The full economic cost (FEC) of your project can be up to £300,000. AHRC will fund 80% of the FEC, funding for projects up to five years in duration
Horizon Europe Funding
📅 Deadline: This programme runs until 2027
🔍 Scope: Horizon Europe is for excellent research in any field, including: health, culture, creativity and inclusive society, civil security for society, digital, industry and space, climate, energy and mobility food, and more.
👥 Audience: For most calls for proposals, you must apply as a team of at least 3 partner organisations from 3 different EU or associated countries
💰 Funding: Horizon Europe is an EU research and innovation programme. It has a budget of €95.5 billion and runs until 2027
British Council International Collaboration Grants
📅 Deadline: 30 April 2024
🔍 Scope: This programme supports the creation of new cultural collaborations between UK artists, arts professionals and organisations and their peers around the world
👥 Applicant: Each project should include at least one UK-based organisation and one organisation based in the countries listed below as part of the partnership.
💰 Funding: Grants range between £25,000 and £75,000
